Goldscheider

In 1885 Friedrich Goldscheider came from the small Bohemian city Pilsen to Vienna and founded the Goldscheider factory. It became one of the most influential ceramic factories of terracotta, faience and bronze objects in Europe.

Famous sculptors and ceramic pottery artists from the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods like Walter Bosse, Demètre Chiparus, Josef Lorenzl, Michael Powolny and Susi Singer to name but a few designed different peices for Goldscheider. The factory’s production includes more than 10,000 items and is listed in a catalog raisonné.
