Fornasetti Flying Machines

£145.00

Piero Fornasetti 1913-1988.

” Fornasetti’s visions travel along unexpected routes, aboard aircraft that float lightly in the skies of the imagination. Ever since Piero chose hot air balloons and flying machines to decorate his childhood bedroom they have coloured his creative universe. His intuition took shape later in the extraordinary fabrics together with Gio Ponti for a Milanese house. Nowadays Fornasetti’s balloons hover on pieces of art whose rigorous shapes marry a whimsical spirit “. Fornasetti.com

This tall beaker is a heavily potted porcelain and can be used in the office as a pen holder or as a drinking cup. It is typical of the Italian ceramics hand made for Fornasetti in Milan, and is part of Fornasetti’s series dedicated to hot air balloons and airships. Hand painted with the image ‘ Channel Crossing 1785 ‘.

Measures 14 cm high x 7 cm diameter.

Condition: Excellent, no damage to the ceramic or pattern.

There is  no makers mark on the base. I bought these as genuine Fornasetti, they are top quality and everything about them indicates they are original. The cup would certainly grace any collection.
