Amherst Pheasant Bowl

An extremely rare Amherst Pheasant bowl designed by Daisy Makeig-Jones, circa 1929, for the Wedgwood factory. The Imperial bowl has a printed and painted, gilded exterior with a frieze of exotic birds on a white ground above a green lustre bowl. The interior has a fairyland design “Bird on a Hoop”, a band of pheasants perched in circular hoops, on an orange lustre ground.

Maker’s marks including printed Portland Vase mark and ‘WEGDWOOD ENGLAND’, black pattern numbers are there but not clear.

Measures – 22 cm diameter x 9.5 cm high

Condition : Excellent, no damage.

Lustreware is impossible to photograph because of light reflection but I do have plenty of detailed photos that can be emailed – please contact me for photos.
