SILVIA KLODE HOFFMANN, born in 1956 East Germany, is a sculptor and medallist. In 1973 she started a 5 year apprenticeship at the State Porcelain Manufactory Meissen, later studying sculpture at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts. After graduating she returned to Meissen to work in the ‘New Artistic Development’ department. Silvia has exhibited worldwide, winning many awards, and her art work is held in numerous museum collections.
‘ Spring ‘ a tall elegant figure, painted in vibrant colours with striking facial features and a birds nest hat, reflects the energy and playful nature of the artist. With this figure the Meissen porcelain manufactory demonstrates its ability to combine traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design. The use of porcelain, a material of timeless elegance combined with a bold and modern style, gives this sculpture a unique appeal. A rare find for the discerning collector.
On top of base an applied small rosette with the artist’s signature ‘KS’.
The factory mark of the blue crossed swords is on the underside. Factory First.
