Rare Wedgwood York cup with the expensive ruby red lustre exterior, circa 1914. (Gold is the element added to glaze to produce a red lustre, this is the most expensive finish and fewer were produced). A mother of pearl lustre with pale stainings lines the bowl with a multicoloured butterfly in the base.
Printed Wedgwood with Portland Vase mark to base and Numbered Z4827.
Size: 5.5 cm high x 10 cm diameter.
Condition : no damage to the porcelain or gilding, some light scratches in the red lustre and a teeny spot of glaze craze next to the butterfly.
