RARE Green/Red Lustre Boston Cup
£365.00
Daisy Makeig-Jones series of “ordinary Lustre” ware.
An unusual Boston Cup shape bowl from Wedgwood, circa 1920. It has been made in a rare green lustre with all colour mottling where the red has produced a purple lustre rather than the usual green. (Silver is the element mixed with glaze to produce the gorgeous green lustre, Gold is added for a red lustre, the pieces were more expensive to produce and there were less made). The bowl is lined with a mother of pearl lustre with pale stainings, a gold bead border and a multicoloured lustre Dragon.
