Ruby Red Lustre Bowl
Wedgwood Ordinary Lustreware Circa 1920.
Rare ruby red lustre footed bowl decorated with oriental gilt motifs and butterflies. Inside the bowl is a mother-of-pearl lustre with pale stainings and large lustre gilt butterfly. Beautiful deep gilt borders to rims and base.
(Gold is the element used in the manufacture of red lustreware and therefore more expensive and much rarer.)
Printed Wedgwood with Portland Vase mark to base and Pattern No Z4827 to base.
Size: 11.5 cm diam. x 6.5 cm high.
Condition : Excellent, no damage to ceramic or gilding, an amazing quality bowl.
