RARE Italian ceramic model of Doctor Boxer, just one of 12 figures in the special edition series ‘St Mary Mead’, released by the Belle Epoque ceramics company in Veneto, Italy.

Modelled at the Ronzan factory in Bassano, Italy in the 1980s.

Giovanni Ronzan and his brothers founded the Ronzan factory in Turin late 1930s shortly after he had left his job as chief painter and ceramic modeller at the Lenci factory. During the war the factory moved to Bassano in the Venetto region of northern Italy.

This fabulous Boxer dog is one of the largest pieces in the St Mary mead series, standing 64 cm high. It depicts a superb life like dog, being fully modelled in the round, dressed in a long black coat and holding a feathered hat.

Condition: Excellent, no damages to the ceramic, no crazing to the glaze.

A true collectors piece.
