Augarten Vienna – Spanish Riding School

The Courbette is one of eight figures in the Spanish Riding School series created by Prof. Albin Döbrich circa 1926. Each figure is made by hand using up to 68 different single pieces to achieve the highest quality.

The rider is wearing his parade uniform, which includes a red tailcoat with golden epaulettes and borders. The horse’s double bridle is black with gold trim and the mane and tail is also decorated with gilded tassels. 

The oval base with gilt inscription    Courbette – Spanisch ReitschuleHofburg Wien .

Underneath: underglaze-blue crown over a beehive over Wein and red mark of the Porcelain Manufactory Augarten;

Large size: stands 30 cm high.

Condition: Excellent, no damages to the porcelain or gilding, checked with UV light.
