Rare red Appetiser Bowls

£599.00 (GBP)

A rare vintage set of six appetiser bowls designed and produced by Italian firm Fornasetti.

Design by Piero Fornasetti 1955

" From tiles to coasters, teacups, appetizer bowls, trays and teapots, there was no ceramic object Fornasetti didn't recast in a new light."

He called them conversation pieces, each bowl is unique, an excellent reason for a conversational discussion.

The bowls have a wide gold band on the inside rim and base, with a center section printed in rare ruddy colour. Designs include onions, cheese, sausages, almonds, olives and nuts.

Genuine makers mark on the base, made in Italy and a gold initial for the painter.

Each bowl measures circa 50 mm high x 80 mm diameter.

Condition: Excellent, no damages to the ceramic, checked with UV light, no crazing to the glaze, slight scratches to the gold rim.
