Goldscheider manufacture Vienna Austria

An extremely rare Art Nouveau ceramic model of a standing greyhound from the Goldscheider company. Modelled in 1911 by the Italian sculptor Valmore Gemignani. 

V.Gemignani of Carrara 1878-1958, studied at the Academy of Fine Arts, Florence under the sculptor Bortone. He exhibited worldwide and many of his pieces can be seen in museums in Europe and South America. He married and settled in Berlin where he worked as potter to Rosenthal.

Made from white clay; Model # 3859; listed in the catalogue of works by Dechant and Goldscheider.

Black factory marks for Friedrich Goldscheider Vienna , plus impressed sculpture to base. 

Can be dated to 1911.

Incised model number 3859 208 10

Height 20 cm x 29 cm long.

Condition: Excellent, no damages to the ceramic, checked with UV light, no crazing to the glaze.
