Magnificent Art Nouveau KPM Berlin group figure; a painted version is held in the Rijks museum, Amsterdam.

This impressive porcelain figurine depicts a centaur carrying a basket of fruit on his shoulder and the young Bacchus on his back.

Model Nr. 10180

First modelled by Wilhelm Widemann in 1912.

Signed W. Widemann on the plinth.

The figure was produced by the Konigliche Porzellan Manufaktur Berlin in 1921; letter V date mark.

Apart from the mark of the blue scepter under the glaze it also features a stamped orb and letter V mark as well as carved numbers 10180.

A large piece weighing in at just over 3 kilos.

The dimensions are: Height 34 cm, width 25 cm, depth 10 cm.

Condition: Super quality piece, it is chipped minimally at one of the pedestal’s edges, there is a tiny chip to the scarf at the back and the centaur's left knee has a small mark. There is no other damage or any repairs. 

Despite these minor faults it is a truly magnificent piece and a rare find.
