Goldscheider Ceramics

In 1885, Friedrich Goldscheider came from the small Bohemian city Pilsen to Vienna and founded the Goldscheider manufactory and Majolica factory. It became one of the most influential ceramic manufactories of terracotta, faience and bronze objects in Europe.

Famous sculptors and ceramic pottery artists in historism, art nouveau and Art Deco like Walter Bosse, Demètre Chiparus, Josef Lorenzl, Michael Powolny, Susi Singer, Arthur Strasser and others designed different subjects for Goldscheider. The manufactory’s production includes more than 10,000 subjects and is listed in a catalog raisonné.
